Well, Bobby the groundhog saw his shadow here in NE Wisconsin, so we are in for another 6 weeks of winter. Personally, I'm ok with it as we haven't had much snow and fun yet. Bring it on!

💋 XOXO Seesaw Activities!
Have you tried the new Seesaw Activity feature? I can't even begin to tell you how much I ❤️ LOVE❤️ this feature!! There are SO many positives- like being able to share an activity with an entire class and knowing who has completed the activity with just a quick glance. What an amazing time saver for a busy teacher.
What I truly love though is the ability that ALL students now have to share their voice and what they know despite fine motor, spelling, or self esteem issues. Being able to use the microphone tool to share their knowledge versus the frustrations of putting a pencil to paper is an incredible feature for our youngest learners. Don't get me wrong, these young scholars still need to be able to share their thoughts through writing, but providing this tool opens a door into their thinking as they work on solidifying their letter/sound knowledge.
So in honor of Valentine's Day, I'm sharing the Seesaw activity ❤️ love....here are a couple of Valentine's Day activities that you can try with your kiddos.

What We Love
Thanks to Laurie from Morning Sun First Grade, I learned about a new website, Imagechef.com and a great way to utilize the word mosaic portion of this site.
During our writing time yesterday we discussed lists and various ways that we use lists. Kiddos then made lists of the people and things that they love. Next, using the SMARTboard, I showed the kiddos how to use their list to create a word mosaic using the imagechef.com site. We then went to the computer lab and kiddos typed their words and changed their fonts to create their unique mosaic. We then saved the image to our folders on the network. We will be learning how to put our mosaics onto our KidBlogs in the coming days. We also printed our mosaics so we could bring a copy home.

I'm already planning how I can use this site again in the future...
There's a shamrock-shaped mosaic for St. Patrick's Day... hmmm....
I also love that instead of an image, you can use your initials for your shape. I'm thinking that this would be a great tool for us to use when writing descriptive words about ourselves or when interviewing a buddy we could use their initials with their descriptive words. The ideas are endless.
